BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! After igniting a Whole Big Dance Party here last month, the popular Weaverville-based Ada Khoury Band and guest musicians will play again at ARTSOUP!
Ada (pronounced AH-dah) is a dynamic singer-songwriter who became a professional musician at age 12. Her original band, Shiloh, was made up of the youngest members ever to be placed on the roster of Houston's premier talent agency. While attending medical school and later a residency in psychiatry, Ada learned the healing power of music and started writing her own songs, many in collaboration with her mother. They developed a large following in the Piedmont of North Carolina while touring the Southeast, opening for acts such as Melissa Etheridge, The Indigo Girls, Doc Watson, and David Wilcox to excellent reviews.

I AM SOUND! Play, hear, and feel your own medicine music. —Daniel Barber
From Daniel’s website: “Are you feeling disconnected? Unfulfilled? Stuck on repeat? Like something vital is missing?” Who doesn’t these days! Daniel’s answer is music and he teaches how to make it a joyful, natural part of our lives again.
We think the New Year is a perfect time to study with this compassionate veteran teacher, who helps people easily overcome performance-related trauma, uncertainty/hesitation, the relentless inner critic, and other forms of self-suppression. This workshop promises to be expansive and freeing!
